Course Overview
This course helps students to become aware or more aware of the contribution of the human element to pollution and how to prevent it. This course combines two important aspects of modern shipping; care for the marine environment and the importance of human performance. Marine environments are those in the World’s Seas and Oceans below mean high tide mark.
Course Objectives
Those who have completed the course will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of preventing pollution to the (marine) environment.
Entry Standards
The course is designed for officers and officers in charge of a navigational or an Engineering watch.
Examination and Assessment
Students shall be assessed through a written exam consisting of short answers and multiple-choice questions, and a practical assessment at the end of the course.
